Description: Standing on a moon, a woman picks white costumes from the stars which, when she shakes them, turn into harlequins. The harlequins fall to earth and there begin to dance, initiating a series of transformations, until they change back into harlequins. The film forms part of what is known as 'cinema of attractions', successor to the popular shows of the late nineteenth century. Beyond a simple narrative, the film seeks to astound and amaze the audience through a series of visual tricks: transformations, overlays, substitutions and reverse motion, among other effects.
